A gift of the late George Eastman to the University of Rochester, the Eastman Theatre on Main Street East in downtown Rochester is the center for the musical arts in Rochester. It is the home of the world-famous Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Seating 3372 persons, the Theatre is rated acoustically excellent for both operatic and symphonic programs, as well as solo recitals.
