Notes | Capt. Maccio began his career in the U.S. Air Force in 1962. Four months ago he went to Guam. He was a navigator on a B52 Stratofortress. Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Maccio, parents, were notified that he is missing and presumed dead. An extensive search was undertaken in the area and no survivors were found. Capt. Maccio was a 1956 graduate of Aquinas High School and a 1961 graduate of St. John Fisher College. He entered the service after working for a year as a civilian in personnel for the Air Force, Rome, New York. Besides his parents he is survived by widow Zoe and two sons Stephen and Jay and two brothers Michael and Chester of Bloomfield Hills, Mich. |

His greatest wish was to be the youngest General in modern Army history. Captain Mattaro never got word of his promotion. Capt. Mattaro attended School #52 before his family moved to the Washington area. The parents now live in Langley Park, Maryland. Because many of his relatives and friends live in Rochester, services for Capt. Mattaro were held May 18 in St. Francis Xavier Church. One of his brothers Joseph lives 211 Woodside Place, Irondequoit. |

Besides his mother, he is survived by two older brothers, Carldan and Curtis of Rochester, and a sister Glenda E. Bodiford also of Rochester. His step-father, Hantson McFarland and three brothers, William Floyd and James are still living in Florida. His father, James Smith, is also living in Orlando, Florida. Notes | Lt. Murphy entered the Navy's Officers Candidate School at Newport, R. I. in January 1959. He was commissioned an ensign in May 1959. In 1962 he was enrolled in the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, Calif. Lt. Murphy's first duty was in Hawaii with Barrier Squadron Pacific. There, he qualified as a naval flight officer in the Early Warning Aircraft system in April 1960. He then enrolled in the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School. Where he completed a year of postgraduate work in engineering science. He then reported to the Naval Plant Office at Hamilton Standard in Windsor Lock, Conn. as bureau of weapons representative. In October 1965 he was sent to Norfolk where he was responsible for planning and implementing missions for the squadron of Early Warning aircraft to which he was attached. Lt. Murphy was a graduate of Irondequoit High School in 1953. The Murphys were married for eight years. He is also survived by two sons Kevin and Michael; his mother Mrs. Howard T. Murphy; two brothers Thomas of Detroit and John Murphy of Binghamton, N.Y. |

He was killed Feb. 6, 1968 as he helped his wounded buddies to safety in a Viet Cong ambush, from four or five positions. The companies were pinned down and quite a few men were killed and wounded. The commander told Pvt. Paduchowski's parents in the lettter that he was a wonderful person and was the life of the platoon. Pvt. Paduchowski was engaged to marry Patricia Peo, of 56 Durnam Street, but the couple had set no wedding date. Besides his parents, he is survived by one brother James, 22. |

He married a Japanese girl there and brought her to this country when he was assigned duty in Jersey City, N.J. When he was sent to Vietnam, his wife returned to Japan with their daughter, Christine. Sgt. Raker was a graduate of Jefferson High School. His father Martin Raker Sr. died seven years ago. Notes | Spec. 5 Reisinger served in the Army Special Forces. Although he was not an Army paratrooper Spec. 5 Reisinger was a skilled sky diver, participating in off-duty hours in more than 100 parachute jumps. He held a Class C sky diving license, was a member of the Jumpmaster 100 Club. Spec. 5 Reisinger was home on leave from duty in West Germany and was awaiting ressignment to duty. He volunteered for Vietnam. Accident occured about a half mile from his home. His stationwagon skidded around a curve and into a car. Stationwagon burst into flame when a two gallon can exploded. besides his parents, he is survived by five sisters, Linda, Lee, Nan, Mary and Kim; three brothers Richard, Gary and Jon. |
